Sleight of Hand Cellars, The Magician 2009 - Columbia Valley, Washington
This blend of 60% gewürztraminer and 40% riesling will surprise you. There is abundant fruit but it is crisp and fresh and the small amount of residual sugar adds to the brightness of the wine, without making it too sweet. If summer does show up this is an ideal deck wine, picnic wine, and summer salad wine; I think you get the idea. I know many of you eschew wine with any residual sugar but you should at least taste this gem.
