Corliss Syrah 2005
In this economy when someone presents me with a Washington syrah that costs more than $50 I tend not to listen very closely. But when it is Corliss I do listen because these folks are going about things a bit differently. Just the vintage alone is attention getting because no one else is holding wine for four and a half years before releasing. This time in barrel and bottle gives the wine a polish that no young wine can have. As Washington syrah can be a bit jammy when young the age allows more complexity and texture to develop, meaning you really are getting something extra for the premium price. Quantities are quite limited so if you are interested I urge you to act quickly.
